Songwriter E. Christine (Chris) Anderson, a D.C. area suburbanite, plays guitar, mandola and harmonica. She recently has been flying solo as a singer/songwriter.   On her elementary school report card, she got gold stars for “plays nicely with others” which she now enjoys by sitting in with DC area artists and bands, and hanging out at the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation barbershop.  She was an active player in Northern Virginia church bands for over a decade. She once enjoyed playing annually in the Mamapalooza Festival as part of the mostly-female band Hot Flash.  Her singing group, Ladies Done Waiting, made their debut at the Bluemont Fair (Bluemont, Virginia) in September, 2011 and performs regularly at local events, markets, festivals and fairs.

In 2003, Chris’ klezmer-esque pop tune “Their Leader” from her project “WAiT – it’s a Musical!” won a Grammy in the Streets demo contest sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and Broadcast Music International (BMI). She subsequently created rehearsal materials, a radio show, accompaniment tracks, and live-stage performance products for the musical. The show has been nationally broadcast in its entirety on XM Radio, with live stage productions throughout the USA and in Austria, Germany and India.

Chris is affiliated with performing rights organizations BMI and Sound Exchange, and is a voting member of NARAS, the Grammy organization. Her music can be heard in the background of various Cable TV productions, including shows for the Travel Channel and The Women’s Entertainment Network (WeTv).  Her songs are available for sale through iTunes, Rhapsody, Walmart.com and other online music retailers.
